For Sale iSight cameras

Hi there,

I'm the original owner of a lightly used ISight camera in it's original box. The camera works fine but I'm cleaning out my mac closet so it's up for grabs. I have two more of these without their boxes and from other owners but all are in working order. I'm asking $50 for the one in the box and $20 each for the other ones. No shipping. Pick up in Barrie or local area please. If you're interested, please text or call me at 705-790-3567
Thanks for looking!

Location services Ipad mini 4

Man - I guess I have fouled myself up.

I was so intent on having it so big brother wasn't watching - that I cannot find a way to turn the 'location services' back on.

I have a new ipad mini4.

The Location services - that is accessed through the 'privacy' link - is off.

And it is greyed out - so I cannot turn it back on

Does anyone know how to turn it on?

Thank you:(

AppleCare changes - to our detriment

A friend called me from an Apple Store today, asking for advice on which model of laptop to purchase, replacing a 2014 MacBook Air that was nearing it's EOL (following liquid damage).

Given his needs and budget, I suggested a late-2018 MacBook Air, now with Retina screen.

Just before checking out, he calls me back to ask about AppleCare. I suggest he wait until the end of the first year, to spread out the cost of his purchase (90 day support is sufficient; it's the hardware we're concerned about these days, with good reason).

Imagine my surprise - that's no longer the way it works. AppleCare's extension to 3 years of coverage must be made within 60 days of purchase now. (AppleCare)

IMHO, Dumb Move, Apple. You've just increased the up-front cost of a new Mac.

I need to upgrade soon, and I honestly don't know where I'm going to find the cash to get the model that I want.... :(

Keynote Remote for iOS

It appears as though Keynote Remote is no longer available on the App Store. There are a few others but they rely on a Wi-Fi network. Does anyone know of a Keynote Remote app that will work on Bluetooth? I believe the original app did. I need it to work on both iPhone and iPad.

Update: Ah...I see it’s built in to Keynote. I’ll see how it works.

Can’t find any Devices list in Keynote to link the iPhone to the iPad or iPad to the iPhone. Anyone? I’ve got BT and Wi-Fi on both devices turned on.

2005 Emac starts up but no picture on screen...

hello all... it's been ages since i've been on here. life takes you in different directions than you expect lol.

anywho, i recenty was given a 2005 Emac and was in the process of reinstalling 10.5.6 and updating it to 10.5.8. i walked away from the mac to do other things while it downloaded patches, updates and security updates and when i returned to continue and finish things the monitor was off and wouldn't come back on moving the mouse.

no worries, i just held the power button to turn it off then waited about a minute and hit the power button. i hear the "booong" sound and i see the white light on the front by the cd slot and i hear the fan... but nothing ever appears on the screen.

ive been doing my due diligence looking up what the issue could be. and it seems the common issue with some models was the IVAD cable. but it sounds like the HDD isn't working.... but would that cause the picture to not show up ? would it not just show the question mark and folder icon ? i'm totally stumped as it was working when i got it and only when i went to wipe and reinstall the OS did this happen.

sorry for the run on sentences as im googling if anyone else had the same issue or remedy.

Early 2014 Macbook Air Shutting Down when Unplugged

Hi all,

It's been years since I've posted here. I have a 2014 Macbook Air that shuts down when it's not plugged in. I've tried the PRAM reset + SMC reset. The latter makes the computer work on the battery for a day or so, then it goes back to shutting down when not plugged in. Because of that I think it might not be a hardware thing, but some weird glitch otherwise. Battery is in good condition, and has limited cycles. Any suggestions for a fix????

Today Only: Save 38% on iRobot Roomba 860

We love good smart tech for the home, and while the Roomba is anything but new, it's also not something that goes on sale all that often. Today only, you can snag a refurbished model 860 for only $279.99, which is a 38% savings over its regular retail price. This is an even bigger deal when you consider the fact that a new Roomba will run you at least $500. Listed as an Amazon #1 Bestseller, this particular model—the iRobot Roomba 860—has a 3-stage cleaning system, and features a scheduling/timing function, as well as virtual walling to section off parts of your house/floor should you see fit. It's also offered with a 90-day factory warranty—not as good as the brand new warranty, but still not half bad.

Jody Wilson-Raybould Resigns From Trudeau Cabinet Amid SNC-Lavalin Scandal

I hope she hangs Turdeau by the balls!

Go Jody GO!

Quote:

Veterans Affairs Minister Jody Wilson-Raybould is quitting the federal cabinet.

In a letter published on her website (screenshot below), the former justice minister says she has hired former Supreme Court judge Thomas Cromwell to tell her what she can say about her dealings with the prime minister on the SNC-Lavalin affair.

Wilson-Raybould’s letter does not say exactly why she’s quitting.

And hires lawyer to help her find out what she can now legally say to Canadians.:clap:

2018 Mini in Apple Refurb Store

I notice today the new Mini is available as a refurb, starting at $849, a $150 discount off the price for a new one.
In the first months after the October launch of the new Mini, the 2014 models were still in the refurb store. You could get a bottom of the line 2014 Mini for $499, which is only for people who can't afford anything better. I have a one, and with 4 GB of RAM and a 500 GB hard drive, it is barely usable with High Sierra.
Some of deals looked really bad, with a much lower spec refurb 2014 costing $1019.

is it safe to download fonts to computer

I am wondering how safe it is to download fonts that can be found on the internet for free. I'd like to add different looking fonts to some graphic designs I'm doing and I see lots of possibilities online. ....but are they safe?

thanks

Multiple mac with multiple monitors -one wireless keyboard and mouse.

Hello all,

I am struggling with creating a system that work like this.

I am currently using an Late 2013 27' Imac and a Mac Mini. I use the Imac with a second monitor, wireless (Apple) keyboard and mouse.

I am also using a cumbersome KVM switch in order to allow the Mac Mini to function on the extra monitor. I must however use a separate keyboard and mouse to operate and I can only use it on the external monitor.

What I am trying to achieve it to be able to use one Keyboard and mouse, and switch between the two systems while still allowing me to use both monitors with each system.

So, Im working on my IMAC with both monitors and I click a mouse button and now Im running the MAC mini with the same two monitors and mouse set up.

Is this possible?

early 2015 MBP- Service Battery

I've been seeing this for the last month or so.
My Apple Care ran out this past November, so, I'm out of luck there.
Found a good YouTube video or the replacement procedure. Makes it look rather easy. I heard disconnecting that cable over the battery isn't the easiest.

I should mention....the battery appears to be functioning okay other than a sudden shutdown after I had left my MBP in my card for several hours at -20C.

Anyone have any words of advice before I attempt replacement? Also, what is the best place to purchase a battery? Should it be Apple brand or will any suffice?

iOS weather app the worst?

Today is a warm +10 day in SW Ontario and both my iPhone and Apple watch (latest iOS Update and watch updates) show a chilly -17 C. Not even close. Of course in the weather widget on my iMac in High Sierra it shows the correct temperature. Why does Apple not use the same service across the board and what are they using that is that far off???

The Seeer has seen!

And for those who are vortexed it is good news.
Quote:

Down in my burrow on long winter nights, I listen to tunes to keep my mind right. From Motown to country to rap, even Bach, there’s Aretha and Elvis; yeah, The Beatles rock. And your cheers at The Knob really give me a thrill, everyone singing to the world, “Phil! Phil! Phil!” But predicting the weather, that’s my song; for 133 years, I’ve never been wrong. So, is it early spring or more winter forecast? Stop the music, here is my forecast. Faithful followers, there is no shadow of me — a beautiful spring, it shall be.

Safari Can't Open Page

I have used the site gifbin.com for years without any issue, but when I went to access it a couple of days back, I got the error shown below in the screen shot.

I am using a MBP and have searched the web looking for a solution. To date I have:

Cleared all caches
Cleared all cookies
Reinstalled Mohave
Run OnyX

All to no avail.

Does anyone have any idea as to how I can regain access to gifbin.com?
