Kirk Douglas RIP

I doubt anyone will ever surpass his record and performances. I saw every movie he ever made when I was a kid and I loved his portrayals, no matter the role.

Kirk Douglas, Indomitable Icon of Hollywood's Golden Age, Dies at 103

Quote:

The actor starred in such films as 'Champion,' 'The Bad and the Beautiful,' 'Lust for Life,' 'Gunfight at the O.K. Corral' and 'Spartacus,' to name just a few.
Kirk Douglas, the son of a ragman who channeled a deep, personal anger through a chiseled jaw and steely blue eyes to forge one of the most indelible and indefatigable careers in Hollywood history, died Wednesday in Los Angeles. He was 103.

“It is with tremendous sadness that my brothers and I announce that Kirk Douglas left us today at the age of 103,” son Michael Douglas wrote on his Instagram account. “To the world, he was a legend, an actor from the Golden Age of movies who lived well into his golden years, a humanitarian whose commitment to justice and the causes he believed in set a standard for all of us to aspire to.”

Douglas walked away from a helicopter crash in 1991 and suffered a severe stroke in 1996 but, ever the battler, he refused to give in. With a passionate will to survive, he was the last man standing of all the great stars of another time.

MBP 2019 question, and value of 2017 MBP

So the latest MBP 16" has the new keyboard hardware under the buttons. Does anyone know if the 13" ones do too?

I'm due for an upgrade, and I would want the newest tech in it.

On a different but related note, my current is a 2017 MBP 13" (retina, Intel Iris 650 graphics), i7 3.5GHz, 16GB RAM, 1TB HDD (flash?) - basically fully loaded with the touch bar. Any ideas on what I should sell it for? I'd give the computer a 9/10 in terms of condition.

More about Kobe Bryant

For some reason I thought we had a thread going about Kobe's death, but I am not finding it.

Anyways a good video, about possible causes of the crash from someone who knows what he is talking about.

Getting back to the Mac

Well, after a few years hiatus, I'm planning getting another mac. Last one I sold was, I believe a 2011 mac mini i5, 16gb, 128gb SSD+500gb HDD or it was a 2011 MBP i5, 16gb, 180gb SSD I don't remember. Got rid of them because they were still valuable and was becoming too slow for me.

Now looking at a late 2013 21.5 2.9ghz iMac. I've been looking around for another mac because mainly no one wants me to use their old mac to recover my aperture library. A hackintosh nor a VM does the trick to allow me to export my pictures.

I need you guys advice see if the late 2013 is worth it at 600$?
