Logic Pro 8

I have the full Logic Pro academic program that unfortunately is too old to use any more and I wasn't sure if it was worth anything to sell?

Also I'm looking to purchase a newer version of Logic Pro for my 2012 Mac Pro running High Sierra and wondering if just going to version 9 would work.

We haven't used the program for quite a while and just used it for personal recordings and song writing.

Any suggestions?

Monterey - the good, the bad and the ugly

I have a brand new (two weeks old) Macbook Air M1 with OSX 12.3.1 (came with 12.2, I just updated to 12.3) … USB C … invested in all the requisite adapters … it will NOT read SD cards from any of three (yes, three) brand new card readers … anybody got experience/suggestions ?

Macbook Air - Opinions Wanted

Hey all,

My wife is tiring of her ancient Macbook Pro and wants to upgrade. She's currently looking at this one: Apple MacBook Air 13.3" w/ Touch ID (Fall 2020) - Space Grey (Apple M1 Chip / 512GB SSD / 8GB RAM).

She is a light user of Word/ Excel, web and Photos.

I've read mixed reviews of these machines.

Any personal experience/ opinions out there?

High Sierra

Hey all,

I'm looking to upgrade the OS on my 2012 Macbook Pro from El Capitan to High Sierra. From all that I'm reading, High Sierra is about the max I want to go with this machine.

Finding a reliable download of it is another story.

icloud sign in problems

I signed out of icloud on my imac (2011 high sierra) as it was not syncing with my iphone and ipad. But I cannot sign in now, I can sign in ok through a browser, but not through system preferences.

I have tried most of the usual things such as restating the computer, and clearing caches; but no luck.

Any ideas.

5,1 cMP ram upgrade?

Just picked up a 5,1 cMP and 24" cinema display on the weekend. It'a 2012 stock 3.2 quad core, 1TB HDD, 8G (4x2g) ram and Radeon 1g video card.
I have installed an SSD for the main drive running High Sierra and don't plan on going newer with an OS.
My question is if I don't plan to overwork it - surfing, older games etc. - would it be worth it to upgrade the ram at all? I have a line on some OWC 3x8g ECC 1066 ram for $60Can.

iPhone not receiving SMS text messages

I recently upgraded to an iPhone XR and now I'm not receiving important SMS text messages. As well, Google Authenticator has stopped working. When I input the code Google sends it's alwasy rejected. Without either of these, I am unable to sign on to email I need for work. Desperate for help on these issues.

5,1 cMP ram heat spreaders

I am picking up a 5,1 cMP 3.2g quad core with 4x2g ram. I have a line on 8x3g ddr3 1066 ECC ram without heat spreaders. Will the 4x2g spreaders transfer to the 3x8g or are the heat spreaders even needed? Thanks for looking folks!.

Battery replacement for iPad 1st generation

Yes, this is the original iPad.

The battery is toast but I do love using it for the lyrics etc that I use for music performances.

Apple won't touch it - too old for them they say.

So I'm wondering if anyone knows of a repair place that might be willing to take this on ...
