Calendar items are gone after screwing with iCloud settings

In the midst of adding a work iPhone to my Apple account and screwing with iCloud settings, I've lost calendar items. I cannot remember exactly when this happened and I hadn't backed up iCloud Calendars so I can't just Restore an older version. I've also found my Notes are only in iCloud and no longer on my phone which I want to move them to.

What are some ways that I would've deleted Calendar items?
How can I move iCloud Notes onto my iPhone? I've Googled this and nothing has worked.

Apple ID shows wrong name of computer

In Settings - Apple ID, my Macbook Air is named after my old Macbook Pro 13". How did this happen and how can I rename it accurately to reflect that it's an Air, not Pro?

Sierra or High Sierra - can my laptop support it?

Hi all two computers, macbook and mac pro, specs are below. I am having difficulty accessing browsers as web technology improves.

Most don't work or I am greeted with the dreaded security certificate out of date. Both computers work great.

Can I upgrade to Sierra or High Sierra? I know technically neither of these machines is supported. The short answer and official answer is NO. But what would happen if I tried to install? Would new OS just be rejected? Would it overheat the...

Disable safari content blocker for gmx.net?

My email provider is gmx.net.
Apparently gmx seems to be considered bad and safari’s content blockers do not permit me to load that site.
Is there anywhere I can configure said content blocker to whitelist gmx.net?

I have not tried this on my Mac because there I use the mail app to check mail. It is only when I am travelling that I do not have my iMac with me and have to use the web interface from safari on iOS.

Turn off LIve Photo Forever doesn’t work!

I’ve gone to Settings-Camera-Preserve Settings-Live Photo (off) and when I go to take photos, it still reverts to Live Photos. How in the hell can this annoying feature be rid of for good????

Which Adaptor to Buy?

MS Office 2011 no more?

I installed this on my 2016 MBP in 2014 but now I'm using macOS Monterrey 12.0.1 and it seems I can't use it and must now go to the App Store and subscribe to MS Office monthly or annually.

Before I toss my CD for MS Office 2011 and subscribe to MS Office, is there any workaround to still use it?

Which Laptop to buy

Hi everyone,

I'd like to buy a laptop for my niece as she is off to University.

but, MacBook Air? or MacBook Pro?

13" or 14"

She's in first year doing neuroscience and psychology if that matters.

Also, I need the Mac to have MS Office. All I see online are subscriptions and I'm not interested in a subscription. Can these apps come pre-installed?
