Buying iPhone - Rogers(carrier) or Apple?

Hi folks,

I’ve waited and waited for a finger print scanner, but it looks like apple isn’t going to release one soon. So time to upgrade

On iPhone 14 Rogers offers a fair discount (on pro max version). Almost $400 compared to buying it from apple store. But I’d have to finance it for 2 years. I hate contracts.

is There a benefit in buying from apple/Best Buy, etc compared to carrier?

disable iCloud icon

The icloud icon appears attached to nearly all the app icons on our ipad mini from a few years ago (not here at the moment and I don't remember the ios).

How can we get rid of them?

I have checked similar topics and the closest I can get to a solution is to disable iCloud as the the default storage for some apps but I can't see where to do that.

New larger keyboard?

As my wife and I get older we are having a hard time with the small, wireless keyboard that came with our 2019 27" iMac. Is there a larger (bigger keys, letters and numbers) keyboard available with all the functions that our keyboard now has? I have searched and found the Apple ones that have the number keys on the right hand side but by looking at pictures online I can't tell is they are actually larger and easier to see.

iPad Pro (5th gen) vs iPhone 14 Pro Max

In comparing snappiness of the UI between my 2021 5th gen iPad Pro 12.9 inch to my new iPhone 14 Pro Max, the iPhone definitely shows results much quicker in search than the iPad. I always did find the search speed kind of “annoying” with the iPad as I’d expect immediate results as I’m getting with the iPhone. Not really an issue per se, but I’m wondering what others are finding.

It's been quite awhile since I've been one here, a few years at least.

Some changes I've noticed are cool.

1Password (older version) new iPhone setup

Reset my old iPhone XS to factory and started installing all my apps onto my new iPhone. Everything is working great except I can't figure how to download the 1Password iOS app that doesn't require an account login and monthly fee, and I don't want any of my sensitive data on a cloud type of service. All my 3 devices were syncing beautifully together, but now I only have my Mac and iPad working. How might I retrieve the old app on my previous iPhone? I have done backups.

Mouse is strange

I don't know if this is the correct place to ask this question but I will go ahead and ask.

On one of the updates, I don't remember which one, part of it was mouse control. What I mean by that is while reading a page when I want to move the page up, the pages go back a page.

It is very irritating constant ly having to click on the story again or click on the page forward arrow.

And for some reason the mouse is very touchy and will do thesame thing as soon as the mouse is touched.
