forgot password

Hello got the iPhone 6 Plus and love it. I use fingerprint to get in phone but noticed when I need to use password in to change it, it says wrong password. So i shut screen off and use fingerprint to open iphone. Is there anyway to see password if my finger print still works? It seems to start over on attempts, so can keep trying different passwords that i tried, so i can keep trying, but on my next restart i'm screwed.
