Just out of interest... Place where many of you know I used to work, Carbon Computing in Kitchener, closed it's doors permanently at the end of December. Before they closed, there was just 2 people working in the store.
They had moved locations a few years back from the very busy King and Victoria (Location now being turned into a huge condo development), to right beside city hall, with barely no parking. Last time I went to visit, the hours had been reduced from 10-6, Monday to Friday... (Closed Saturdays!! )
Kind of sad, but the inevitable decline of independent dealers.
I just bought a new iMac from the Apple refurb store (Those of you who remember previous discussions on that with me will get a chuckle). Other stuff, I just buy from the Apple Store.
Pretty hard for a small business to compete, unless specializing in a specific higher-end niche(s).
