I have a mid 2012 15" Retina MacBook Pro. I rarely use the screen on this machine, it probably has less then 72 hours of actual use of the screen, it is always plugged into a larger connected screen for work.
I have a new 5K iMac, been transferring things, working off both at the moment and noticed some screen burn after very short periods of being on. I can have some very feint burn in after about 10 mins. It does eventually fade away. Also, if restarting I get the menus and dock all burned in. I am thinking this is not normal, but have little experience with laptop screens to know what is. I have always used my laptops plugged into larger screens. I have taken some pictures with my iPhone to show:
