Mac Security

Just came across a good deal on Intego Mac Internet Security X9 at $29.99 US for 3 years (for today only). Ive never used such security in all my years of using Macs. I'm wondering how many users actually use security software nowadays before I jump in for 3 years. There seems to be good reviews on the software.
