Odd error message

My sister has an iPhone... X or 11 or something... she sent me a screenshot asking if I knew why she was getting this error in iOS Mail.

It doesn't look like a typical iOS error graphic - the typography doesn't seem right.

I've done the reverse image search, etc., no luck.

Anyone recognize this?

Clearing Photos off IPhone 5

How do I clear the photos off my IPhone 5 without losing them entirely. They are on the ICloud .
I have searched and all I get is complicated responses and telling to be careful or you will delete them off the cloud and they are gone. One site has 27 answers and stats off with "The short answer is that you can't easily do this – at least not in any way that's practical for normal use."....and they are right, there is no definitive way.
Is there a simple way to delete them off the phone but...

Syncing all files from Mac to iPad Pro

What is the best way to sync all my Mac files to my iPad Pro without using iCloud Drive? I really don’t want to get into extra fees to use the Cloud for this. Is there any particular app that will do this? I am a paid user of SuperDuper but I don’t believe it has this capability.

Apple ID problem when trying to sign in

Morning all,
When setting up Apple ID in Catalina on my Mac mini, It asks for an iPhone passcode. I no longer have an iPhone and it has been removed from my list of devices. I’ll click use other device and get an enter password message on my iPad. After doing so I get the Waiting for approval spinning spokes on my Mac mini. Ten minutes and counting now. Am I missing a step?

Reflections on Zoom

No, this is not the philosophy dept! Although I have very expensive lenses with anti-reflective coating, they reflect my MBA screen making me look like an eyeless zombie.

The nature of a Mac & its lens is that it's, perforce, positioned directly in front of your eyes. Lower your Mac, get tech neck; raise your Mac & look like you're praying (in real life, this often happens with computer issues!).

Ideas, please? TIA!

Original install disks for iMac G4 17" 800Mhz

Good day,

I have a first gen iMac G4 17" 800Mhz and I'm having difficulty installing OS 9.
I am looking for the original install disks so I can install the model specific version of OS 9.2.2.

I'm also looking for an Airport card and RAM for this machine. Preferably the 512mb SO-DIMM.

I'm located in central Alberta. Shipping preferred or COVID safe pickup is fine if located near Edmonton.

iPad Air 4th Generation: internet dies

Despite having upgraded our internet, my WiFi connection on my new iPad is as slow as my iPad Air 2 or doesn’t even connect. I have to tether to m iPhone’s data to get back online.

What could the cause be since it occurs pretty much everyday and is making my WiFi iPad useless!

new iPad Pro with Thunderbolt 2 MBP

I have my new iPad Pro 12.9 inch on the way and just realized I'm going to need an adapter to connect. I've always connected my Lightning iPad Pro to my MBP USB connection. Is the following the adapter I need? That means the iPad Pro will connect to my Thunderbolt 2 (min display) port? And if so, it also means I will need a Thunderbolt 2 cable to connect, correct?

Mac loses sound and video freezes

My MacMini 10.13.6 has developed a most annoying fault. The sound vanishes and videos freeze. Some programmes are also affected. I have restored the OS (Cmd-T) but the problem persists, however, I can change it back to normal operation by quitting everything, accessing Activity Monitor and quitting 'Coreaudiod' - which immediately restores all functions. Mac Mail sends but does not receive

Title says it. Any suggested routes to follow to fix that? Trying to help a friend in another country. MacBook AIr is all I know. Have tried restarting the laptop. Restarting wifi router. iPhone and iPad have no problems using same mail accounts.

Any way to transfer mp3s from mac/iphone to fossil sport watch?

Hi! So bought a fossil sport watch for my girlfriend for xmas and the two key features I based my purchase on were in built gps and offline music play..
However it seems that now since the demise of google play music there is no way to get mp3s onto the watch as the third party apps on play store aren't compatible with iphone..
Any help would be massively appreciated!

use iMac as monitor for Mac Mini M1?

A guy at work as a mid 2011 iMac. He is looking to get a new Mac as he cannot upgrade any further. I suggested a Mac Mini because of the price point. He wants to use his old iMac as a monitor and I know this can be done starting with mid 2011 (which his is). Can I run HDMI from the Mac Mini M1 to an adapter that turns it into the display port/thunderbolt port to connect to the iMac to use it as a screen? I am assuming it will work but not 100% positive with the HDMI converting to thunderbolt.

Won't start up!

Just got my 2011 MBP 17-inch back from the shop with new battery, fans & speakers. When I got it back, new battery was at 7% but MagSafe charger had a green light.

I calibrated the battery, charging it up to 100%, then running it down to past zero. Had it on charge (still green light) for several hours now but the power button doesn't fire the old girl up.

Any ideas?

Adobe Acrobat - Selection Capture blurry Text Help

Hi everyone,

I am adobe 10.1.16. I have documents that I scan and need to clean up afterwards. The Create PDF Selection feature is perfect for this job. Only problem is the text comes out blurry. I've fiddled with the settings but nothing seems to be working. Any suggestions what might be the problem? I've noticed even if I capture a webpage or another pdf doc the text and images are always blurry.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Sweet! 2011 17-inch MBP

Okay, I just had to share this news. My 2011 17-inch MBP has been fully refurbished here in Bangkok for less than $100 labour!

I'm so happy to have my baby back! New battery, 2TB SSD, new keyboard.

This puppy's on its third videocard free from Apple. Hope this one will last.

USB dock with charging port doesn't charge since Big Sur

Dang that Big Sur upgrade. Never again. So many problems. But the biggest issue I'm facing is that my USB/HDMI hub that also has power pass-thru doesn't charge my MacBook Pro anymore. It sends some power through, but my battery slowly drains over time.

This is a problem because I don't have any spare built-in USB ports for the AC adapter.

Does anyone know of a way to get such things to charge again?
