I never thought I would be writing a letter to Dear Penth....
Sorry, wrong letter. :o
Yesterday afternoon HAL (iMac) started operating v-e-r-y . s-l-o-w-l-y.
Even the stacks fan display took seconds.
I saved what I was working on, and powered down.
Whe I tried to power down after about an hour I got the ta-da, the apple then the spinner. It never resolved after 3 attempts, so I gave up for the day.
This mosing I powered-up, make coffee etc, and when I returned it was in Safe Mode. I don't have a password on my system but it wanted one. The hint was "Building T". Another feature is the the bottom row of the keyboard does not function.
Any ideas?
She's just over 5 years old, has never been a problem, and I did buy Apple Care which has by now probably expired.
HELP. :-(
I'll check back from the hospital *pituePC* in the morning for any advice.
Thanks.
