Background: I’m trying to complete an Ontario Gov’t form - a “secure” pdf file which uses the latest version of pdf and requires the latest Acrobat Reader to open/fill-in properly.
I have an older version of the complete Adobe Acrobate (8.3.1) - which will open the file, but screws up some of the text, and Preview, which will not open the file - instead I get instructions to download the latest reader.
Problem: I’ve followed a few different links - all take me to the same Adobe web-page
[/url]get.adobe.com/reader[/url] which has a handy button to “Install Now” - clicked.
This takes me to a general web-page [www.adobe.com] which has the option to download Adobe reader.
Which immediately takes me back to the previous page. And the loop continues.
I understand Adobe was hacked lately and is most likely working diligently on their
security - hence the problem downloading files etc., but I really need the updated reader.
Question: Does anyone know of any alternate means of downloading the latest version?
Any suggestions would be appreciated
Set-up: Mid 2010 27” iMac i7 running 10.6.8, Safari 5.1.10 (Javascript enabled, tried Java enabled/ disabled, no difference)
