MacBook Pro A1226 Power Supply Problem

I use to be able to operate my MacBook Pro without the battery, only using the AC adapter/power supply. Something happened and it will not run on the AC adapter/power supply. It will operate with a battery.



Could anyone tell what they think may be the fault with the MacBook Pro. I am very technical and would like to repair the MacBook Pro.
