Lose an iPhone, start a Tumblr blog....

Woman who lost iPhone mocks new owner's iCloud selfies

One year ago today, Danielle Bruckman lost her iPhone at a New Year's Eve bash in San Francisco.

She doesn't know how it went missing, what happened to it, or where it is exactly -- but she's become quite familiar with the man who owns it now, thanks to Apple's iCloud syncing service.

As it turns out, the man never turned off his phone's photo-syncing feature when he obtained it, leaving Bruckman with a copy of every picture he's taken over the past year in her own iCloud account.

You might think she'd be angry at the moustachioed stranger and try to seek him out, but Bruckman got creative instead.

In January, the San Francisco resident created 'My Cloud Pal,' a Tumblr blog documenting the photos that were coming into her account, complete with side-by-side shots of herself imitating the man's selfies.

Strange

Every once in a long while my screen gets spontaneously magnified such that about two inches gets lopped off both width and depth. Possibly some obscure gesture executed on my track pad. No idea what causes it or how to get it back to 100%. Was happening occasionally under Mountain Lion and now it's also doing it under Mavericks as well.

Any ideas as to the cause?

Appreciated.

China: The Deep Blue Sea

China seems to be going all-out in all directions... first the moon, and now the depths of the Pacific...

China's Deep Sea Ambitions

China’s Jiaolong manned submersible became the world’s deepest-diving state-sponsored research vessel, with four trips to 7,000 meters depth. Around the same time, news broke of plans for a National Deep Sea Center, a $78 million facility that will operate the sea-going fleet and serve as a central base for oceanographic research and technology development. Months later, the center’s director, Liu Baohua, announced a nationwide search for oceanauts, men and women who will pilot Jiaolong and its planned sister sub around the ocean’s depths.

It’s all part of China’s rhetorical, financial, and strategic return to the sea, a realm that it dominated several centuries ago. Chinese maritime strength reached its apex in the early 15th century, as admiral Zheng He crisscrossed the Indian Ocean with enormous fleets, returning with gifts (most famously a giraffe) for the Emperor. But a few years later, as political winds shifted, the Ming Dynasty ended the epic voyages, choosing instead to focus on other, more local, priorities. This abrupt 180 is frequently cited as a cautionary tale highlighting the dangers of isolationism, a poor strategic move that doomed the discoverers to become the discovered.

Mid-2007 iMac HD Upgrade - SSD? Hybrid? Regular?

My wife's computer, her 24" 2.4 iMac is a GREAT computer. We've never had a problem, but I'm afraid the hard drive is failing. It's loud, clicky, and slow.

I am thinking I will replace it. I've already cloned the drive and made a backup, which works, in case it does fail. That said, I'm looking for opinions.

I've read people who've added SSDs, people who've just added new drives, people who've added these seagate hybrid drives, people who've removed the disc drive and added both an SSD and new SATA drive using a drive caddy,.

Anyone have an opinion, suggestions, tips? I've looked over the process, it looks complicated but doable.

Can I stop iCloud Keychain from sharing WiFi Networks and passwords?

Hello,

Does anyone know if there is a way that I can stop WiFi network SSIDs and credentials from being shared between devices (especially between OSX and iOS)?

My MBP supports 802.11ac, and is connected to an access point that I want to keep reserved for ac devices (in order to meet the 80 MHz channel width). I have another access point for 802.11n.

My problem is that my iPad and iPhone will pull the data from the MBP and connect to the wrong AP and vice-versa.

I like most of the features of iCloud Keychain, but I'd really like to turn off Wi-Fi Network syncing.

My other option is to enforce strict MAC address access limitations on the APs, but I'm not sure how long the devices will keep trying the wrong AP before giving up and connecting to the correct one.

Any help is appreciated!

Historic photos - Antarctic expeditions

On Ice: 100 year-old negatives discovered in Antarctic

Conservators restoring an Antarctic exploration hut recently made a remarkable discovery: a small box of 22 exposed but unprocessed photographic negatives, frozen in a solid block of ice for nearly one hundred years.

These negatives were meticulously processed and restored by a Wellington photography conservator. Antarctic Heritage Trust executive director Nigel Watson said of these never-before-seen images:

"It's the first example that I'm aware of, of undeveloped negatives from a century ago from the Antarctic heroic era.

Questions that come to mind are, should a person have a back up battery for one of these things, has anyone ever hooked up a small camera, like an iPhone video camera and tried to shoot video, how would one power such a camera and how hard is it to learn how to fly one of these things?

Any insight, suggestions or ideas on what a guy might do with one of these choppers appreciated.

Marnie and me!

Office of the President Dec 24 2013

Air Canada

Dear Calin,

It is not often that I take the time to write a letter like this but I was so impressed with the dedication and professionalism of one particular employee that I thought I must share.

Marnie and me!

I had recently the good fortune to be booked on AC 857 from London's Heathrow airport to Toronto Pearson on Dec 21 2013.

As we boarded the flight for the long journey home all passengers were in a joyous mood to start their Christmas holiday festivities back home. The cabin was full of hustling and bustling people trying to get things just right and put away all their christmas shopping before be took off on our flight.

As I sat down in seat 5D a silver haired senior flight attendant greeted each passenger by name and welcomed us all aboard and as I like to do I noticed her name tag and thanked Marnie.

Marnie showed up with a tray of drinks and offered us a cold libation before our journey began.

It was a choice of champagne, juice and water. She then proceeded to hand out our lunch menus for the long journey ahead.

As I sat down enjoying my drink and opened the menu my eyes fell upon the first choice on the menu “Rack of lamb” I need not look any further as this is something that I would really enjoy!

A few moments later Marnie returned to collect our now empty glasses and take our dinner menu choices.

As she approached and leaned over to ask my choice I proudly proclaimed that “I'll have the lamb!”, To which Marnie replied “I'm very sorry Mr Henderson the lamb is no longer available.”

No longer available, I'm only in row 5 I thought to myself how could this be we are only 1/3 of the way through the cabin!

I 'm sure the look of disappointment was on my face and Marnie cheerfully suggested that I try the chicken or fish as she was sure I like one of those!

“I disappointingly muttered I'll have the chicken then.”

As the airplane roared down the runway i'm sure pulled by all Santa's reindeers to get us into the air for the long journey home, as we were full of gifts for friends and family, how could this not be like riding on Santa 's sleigh on Christmas eve i thought.

As we reached our cruising altitude the dinner service began with crisp white linens laid before us and some amazing appetizers of smoked fish and grilled veggies.

After everyone had finished their starters, a different flight attendant showed up with our mains as I'm sure Marnie must been on a well earned rest by now.

She placed before me a plate of fish and while it looked wonderful I was still hurting from my 1st choice of lamb not being available ,so I looked up to her in utter astonishment and said “ but I didn't order the fish” to which she replied “ what was it that you wanted Mr Henderson ?”and to which I replied “ I would like the rack of lamb” To which she said “ very well I'l be right back!”

I was shocked, you mean that perhaps Marnie made a mistake and that all the Racks of Lamb hadn't already been devoured?

Was my luck about to change and good things were about to happen to me this holiday season?

I started to wonder what could be happening as the flight attendants scurried about with all the other passengers as I excitedly awaited my lamb.

And lo and behold a few minutes later Marnie arrived, that angel who came from ahigh with yes you know a hot steaming plate with a joyous rack of lamb laid upon it!

The smile on my face I'm sure brightened the cabin and just as I was about to carve this sacrificial lamb with my knife and fork Marnie proclaimed in a loud voice “ I hope you enjoy your rack of lamb Mr Henderson and that was my choice also and because this is only a very short flight of 8 hours I will not need to eat, so I hope you enjoy it ! “

I didn't know what to say I sat there stunned and thoughts raced through my head and as I meekly offered

“Marne perhaps you would like the chicken or fish” to which she replied “no she too had her heart set on the lamb”

Now I knew how Ebeneezer Scrooge felt after being visited by 3 spirits!

Show me no more show me no more I thought to myself.

How could I in all good consciousness sit here being waited on by these hard working flight attendants and then to top it all off eat their lunch as well!

Were all the other passengers seeing me for the true villain that I was ? What could I do ???

I sat there ate the lamb and pretended not to like it hoping that someone would forgive my sins.

As we all had finished our dinner Marne appeared cleaning up our plates and pushing this most glorious dessert trolley filled with a cornucopia of sweets!

As she approached my seat and asked what choice I would like for dessert and I surveyed the bevy of desserts my mind started to race and I thought to myself what if there is something laid before me by Marne that she too had her mind set on, what would happen if I once again stole her choice.

I looked up and in a voice barely above a whisper said, “ Coffee black please”.

I of course hoped that I had appeased Marne and she could in some way forgive my trespasses but as we were leaving the airplane she wished all the business class passengers a “Happy Holiday” she decided to withhold that same wish to me!

I was crushed, I so wanted her to be able to forgive me but alas it was not to be!

So inclosing you should now know that the reason you have achieved the “Best North American airline award” 4 years in a row is because of hard working dedicated employees such as Marne who were willing to give up their lunch just so the customer could have whatever he wanted without due regard to her choice!

Humbly yours,

John Henderson

Mixed Ram Modules?

My son has a 2012 iMac 27 inch with 2 * 4gig modules. He needs more RAM, but we'd rather not dump the existing 2* 4 gig .

So a solution would be to buy 2 new 8 gig modules to take him up to 24 gig.

Will this work? We'd have 2 slots with 4 gig RAMs and 2 with 8 gig RAMs. Will we see any degradation in speed? I guess it might make sense to put the bigger RAM units in the first 2 slots - but apart from that, anything else we should be aware of?

Cheers

Print a Window

Sometime in the not completely forgotten past one could print a finder window or even their desktop without having to do a screen shot of it.

Generally not a very useful feature, but right now it would provide a bit of a shortcut/quality improvement over doing screenshots of several windows then printing them.

Anyone know how to do this in Snow Leopard?
Terminal command would be OK.

Image Exaggeration

Over the past couple of years I have noted a lot of linked images have severely exaggerated contrast or saturation. At first I thought it was a case of individuals trying to milk every last bit out of an image, resulting in something more along the lines of blinding art rather than photography.

I have a reasonably good display and have used the built in OS X display calibration. I can print my images, either on my own printer, via a local Kodak kiosk or at London Drugs and 98% of the time the prints are a very close match to the image as viewed on the display.

Recently I had occasion to transfer some images to a friends computer. All of these were either right from the camera or had been optimized for prints. All looked quite good on my display and required no further tinkering. The individual I gave these to has a fairly expensive 17 inch display Windoze laptop. On his computer the images tended to look flat and slightly washed out. If he were to correct them to where they look good on his computer I am sure they would produce that same overdone artsy impression I referred to earlier.

So the real reason for this artsy fartsy trend, may have more to do with crummy and/or poorly calibrated user displays rather than bad taste.:D

Duck dynasty.

In this clip, the sheriff talks about Christian values ROTC. At one point, he says "in this country, we have freedom of religion, but not freedom from religion.

Putting aside the current controversy, I'm wondering what he meant by that statement. Does he mean that you can choose a religion, but you can't choose to not have religion. Like to be an American, you must declare some religion?

Recommend printers

I'm in the market for a multi-function printer/scanner with wifi capabilities for a low volume home environment, an emphasis on ease of use/reliability/low cost ink carts. In other words all round satisfaction rather than the lowest sticker price. Absolute must — must be Mavericks compatible.

Which brands/manufacturers do you recommend/which brands/manufacturers to avoid?

What specific models give you excellent value?

Much appreciation.

Major iTunes disappointment!

What is the experience out there with iTunes starting by itself and how is it corrected? So far, restarting is the only thing I can do to stop it. I switched to Mac just because I was sick and tired of restarting a computer to correct stupid software issues in Windows ( a "common" fix for most Windows issues at work). Alternatively, does anyone know of alternate media libraries/players for Mac as this is not my first-time with this issue on a Mac.

iSight Uh-Oh....

Be careful what you do in front of your Mac... iSight may be watching (without the telltale green light)!

Macbook webcams can be remotely activated without any sign

Quote:

MacBooks are designed to prevent software running on the MacBook’s central processing unit (CPU) from activating its iSight camera without turning on the light.

But researchers figured out how to reprogram the chip inside the camera, known as a micro-controller, to defeat this security feature.

In a paper called “iSeeYou: Disabling the MacBook Webcam Indicator LED,” Brocker and Checkoway describe how to reprogram the iSight camera’s micro-controller to allow the camera and light to be activated independently.

That allows the camera to be turned on while the light stays off. Their research is under consideration for an upcoming academic security conference.

The researchers also provided us with a copy of their proof-of-concept software.

Unlocking iPhone 4

Just come to the end of my Rogers contract on an iPhone 4, so I've upgraded to an iPhone 5S.

I'd like to unlock the 4, so I can use it in Europe..

Some of the online services - unlock4U.com for example - charge ridiculous amounts - they ask over US$200 and 7 days to do it.

Rogers say they will unlock for $50 - is this a good deal, or is there somewhere isle in Toronto that does it cheaper? Any suggestions?

Thanks guys

Numbers???

So I was putting together a fairly simple ledger in Numbers.

The formula in AppleWorks was this: IF(B3>0,E2-C3+D3,"") Which gave the result if cell B3 had a value and left the cell blank where there was no entry in B3. Still works if B3 is a positive number but fails if B3 is a date.

So how do I get Numbers to display a result if cell B3 has a date entered and return blank if there is no entry?

Flashing Amber Light: Is it officially the end?

I woke up this morning to no wifi on my iPad. So I go down and check on my aging Airport Express (1st gen). I had become accustomed to unplugging then plugging it as a quasi refresh/power cycling. Didn't work this time. Tried again, nothing. When i looked below, it would not stop flashing amber.

hmmm..

I then checked on the status of the internet service - would you believe I went to twitter 1st and searched under rogers internet? LOL. I need to know before i went ahead with more diagnostic.

So I hard wired my laptop. pow. internet.

I go bak to check. Maybe my RJ45 was messed. Try a few different ports out of a router and even change cables. still nothing.

do a soft reset, and then two hard resets. still nothing.

Open up airport utility, FAIL: can't use Mavericks w/ legacy airport express.

Luckily, I kept an old lap running Snow Leopard. Go reconfig the AE, but still nothing is working.

I'm not getting an IP address though, and you can see that here.

I suck at internet connection, IP stuff mostly so I have no idea what's happening here. My only guess is that it might the end of the long road. It just turned 9 last month.

Mexico Ends Oil Monopoly

So, Cubamark, what's the local take on this?

North America to Drown in Oil as Mexico Ends Monopoly

Quote:

The flood of North American crude oil is set to become a deluge as Mexico dismantles a 75-year-old barrier to foreign investment in its oil fields.

Plagued by almost a decade of slumping output that has degraded Mexico’s take from a $100-a-barrel oil market, President Enrique Pena Nieto is seeking an end to the state monopoly over one of the biggest crude resources in the Western Hemisphere. The doubling in Mexican oil output that Citigroup Inc. said may result from inviting international explorers to drill would be equivalent to adding another Nigeria to world supply, or about 2.5 million barrels a day.

PC laptop question

My cousin is looking for a laptop for his wife for christmas. Not needed for heady duty use, just some accounting (quickbooks, not quickbooks online so needs windows) and internet surfing, very light stuff.

The reason he wants a PC is the fact that he knows Windows 7 and can help her when she has trouble. They have a 24" iMac and he just can't help her when she has questions. I have been looking for a Win 7 laptop, but they are scarce these days, everything is pretty much Win 8, which he is clueless about, just as I am clueless about Win 8. If buying a new laptop with Win 8, can't he hard drive be erased and Win 7 installed? Would there be any real cons with this? Not looking for touch screen or anything, just a good small laptop preferably with SSD. Most, if not all of the Win 7 laptops I see on new egg, or tiger direct all look big and bulky.

Is it my ISP ??

I rely on a small, local community-based wireless ISP, and have some ongoing issues - only I'm not certain all of them are because of the ISP.

Network speed varies considerably, and is generally pretty shitty - but that's part of living in a small, remote town … I get that, and I know the ISP is working toward upgrading equipment and moving to a mesh network solution… the big problem is the constant stream of "doesn't recognize the certificate" messages that occur when going online from home.

I have a macbook pro running 10.9 - the problem predates the system upgrade. My partner has a macbook pro running 10.6. We both use Facebook a lot, and get error messages (access denied … does not recognize) and inability to open web pages throughout the day … also get them on other sites. When I am out of town on business, and accessing the same websites, I seldom if ever run into this problem.

The home network runs off a Cisco/Linksys router, and I suppose it could be the culprit, though we have never had any other problems with it.

Next time I get the message, I will capture a screen shot and post.

Any thoughts on this - anyone? And thanks in advance for your thoughts and comments.

A real feel good story...

Congratulations to them all. What an accomplishment for these folks.

Prince Harry reaches South Pole with wounded Canadian warriors

Quote:

OTTAWA — Twelve wounded warriors — two of them Canadian — reached the South Pole with Prince Harry on Friday after a 320-kilometre ski trip.

They stood for souvenir photos beside the pole. There really is a pole, a red-and-white striped marker like a barber pole set up since Amundsen’s and Scott’s day.

The prince immediately radioed home with an emotional appreciation of all the soldiers had struggled through:

“We’re here. I am about 10 metres away from the Pole. Everyone is sort of scattered now, we’ve been here for about 20 minutes, maybe half an hour. It’s an amazing feeling, it really is.

“Every single one of these 12 deserves it,” he said.

The two Canadians are Master Cpl. Chris Downey of Cold Lake, Alta.; and Cpl. Alexandre Beaudin D’Anjou of Valcartier, Que.

Downey grew up in Ottawa, attending school and working here before joining the military.

“I’m telling everyone I know and pretty well everyone I come into contact with,“ said his father, Brian Downey, adding he was told his son was successful in an email update Friday from the Walking With the Wounded organization.

The Renfrew school bus driver said he’s even been updating the high school students on his bus about his son’s progress.

It was no easy trek for Chris Downey. On the second day of skiing, he fainted and was removed from the race for about 20 hours.

“Chris always says you can overcome anything; like if you’re having a bad day, or a bad week, or even a bad hour, you can get through it,” his father said. “There was a point there, where we didn’t know if he was going to live three years ago.“

An IED explosion in Afghanistan in 2010 left his son with a collapsed lung, shattered jaw, broken right hand and shrapnel wounds. He lost part of his upper lip, front teeth and right eye. There were bad burns on his thighs and he suffered cuts to his upper body, face and thighs. He had two aneurysms.

“He fought through his struggles and he’s at the South Pole today,“ his father said. “I’m sure that wasn’t easy for him but he just keeps fighting ... This is rehabilitation and recovery for him and his family as well.“

Prince Harry singled out Sgt. Duncan Slater from the British team: “It’s just remarkable the fact that someone with no legs has made it here, and to have done it in record breaking time, no doubt.

“And Ivan (Castro) as well, when I look across I see him being guided around you know, totally blind, from America, and absolutely hates the cold, and you know he’s not doing it for himself, he’s doing it for his buddies back home. And that goes for everybody, every single one here.

“All 12 of them have different reasons for being here,” he said. “What an amazing journey for every single one of them and this charity (Walking With the Wounded) really does do amazing things. It’s not just for the small minority that are here but hopefully in time to come through the documentary, and all the stories back home. It will just prove to everybody that there’s so much that can be made possible when you think that nothing is left.

“But I’m so proud, I’m so chuffed and I’m so privileged to be here with all these guys and girls, and well done to Ed and Dags and everyone who’s organized this. What an amazing accomplishment. I think we’ll be having a few whiskies tonight and then everyone’s looking forward to getting home.

“Mission success.”

Whisky is probably available without limits. Harry is on Team Glenfiddich, named after its sponsor.

The trip took 13 days. It began as a race, but two-thirds of the way to the pole the organizers called off the competition because they were afraid someone would be hurt. The Canadian-Australian, American and British teams covered the final 100-plus kilometres in one group.

“I have a plate in the back of my head because I was hit with an IED in Baghdad and it caused nerve damage,” said Margaux Mange of Team U.S.A. “So they had to do brain surgery to try to alleviate the pain, and it didn’t do anything so I am stuck with a 24-hour headache.”

Expedition members first had to face their fear of the immense task, the former army sergeant said. “Once you get over that fear, you just have to get past all your pain. If you are constantly thinking about your pain, it is going to overwhelm you. So I noticed over the days that you just stay in a mode of ‘Here Now.’

“If you start thinking about the future or the past, you are stuck. That’s where I am at. DTS wav's

has anyone heard of these before? New to me, for sure

apparently, there are some cd's or dvd's that are music in dts surround. I have managed to get my hands on a few test wavs, but I can't get 'em to play at all. I've tried QT player, and VLC, clementine, and something else ( I forget what). Any help/advice greatly appreciated

apparently the .wav is just a container and the actual file is digital and needs to be sent to a decoder via the optical or SPDIF out, which I have connected.....Hmmmmm

thanks

Want to replace existing cellphone with an iphone....

Here is the situation:

I currently have a contract with Bell that still has a year to go.

Contract does not include data which I would never use but it is also is the reason I didn't get an iphone when I signed up.

To get an iphone, Bell insisted I need to take the data plan which would have been $25 more per month or $900 for something I don't use.

The cellphone I got was an LG model, smart phone with more features than I will ever need. Didn't need the data plan with that so all was good.

Well, not anymore, the LG has now become almost unusable - the touch screen just doesn't respond on many occasions. I have to swipe the screen many times to turn the phone on - often I cannot disconnect - that phone is just crap.

So I decided I'm going to get an iphone 4S because I was told that Bell no longer requires one to get the data plan - called bell, but they still insist on the data plan for a two year term plus an early hardware upgrade fee - still a $750 bill - ridiculous.

Alternate plan is to just buy an iphone 4S outright - here is where the questions come in:

1. If I buy an iphone 4S that is already locked to Bell, can I just take my SIM card out of my LG, cut it down to the smaller SIM card with that tool that is available, plug the SIM card into the purchased iphone 4S and get that phone to work?

Or do I need to get Bell involved somehow to register that phone to my existing Bell account...and if so, will they then insist on changing my plan, either adding the data portion I don't want or need or extending my contract which I also don'y want.

2. Same question but with an unlocked iphone 4S

Chrome has stopped working

Google Chrome has completely stopped working on my MBP. Every page leads to the "Aw, Snap" error. I can't adjust any of my settings in chrome as they are all web based and I get the error trying to access them as well. I've deleted chrome, the chrome folder in App Support, as well as all preferences. Reinstalled and still get the error.

Safari is working fine.

Any ideas?

How to reduce gradient banding in InDesign CS6?

I designed a vinyl fabric banner (10 ft x 2 ft) for a customer. It has a 4 colour logo on it plus a gradient tint in the background across the 10 ft length. The art was created in InDesign CS6 and exported as a high res PDF (3.4 mb). The printer called to say the gradient had visible steps/banding. I did not notice it on my screen until I zoomed in 100% size. He ended up using a TIFF file (6.5 mb) that I sent him where the banding is barely noticeable.

I have two similar banners to prepare in InDesign. Any ideas how to remove the banding effect and have a seamless gradient?

eBay is a HORRIBLE place to sell something!

Their fees are freakin ridiculous. I just sold my iMac on there for $700. They charge 10% of that, plus the shipping charges. WTF?! I don't make any money on the shipping, so why should they??

To add insult to injury, Paypal (which IS eBay) ALSO takes a cut!! For selling something for $700, they've made over $100 from me. Total ripoff.

I don't know why I don't think these things through better. I could have knocked $50 off my already low asking price and still would have made more selling it on Craigslist. Sucks being broke and desperate... :(

Volunteer organizations: Use the BCC field at least

This has nothing to with Eh-Mac. Just a general comment.

I guess this might just be a pet peeve, but I wish well-meaning volunteer organizations would quit sending broadcast emails to their members by putting everybody's email addresses in the open. Compromises everyone's addresses, and there is enough spam out there already.

It's so easy for the sender to put their own address in the TO: field and everybody's addresses in the BCC: field. Or better, use a service like MailChimp.

Sorry, just had to get this off my chest.

iCloud and Contacts duplicates

It's confusing as to why, all of a sudden, the Contacts on my devices (iPad and iPhone) are showing over 1300 contacts when, in fact, I only have just over 700 in iCloud and on my Mac. It wasn't like this a week ago. I just noticed this last night and I don't remember any settings I may have changed to create this, other then maybe doing a sync through iTunes. The question is, how do I get rid of all these duplicates?

I found this help link, but I'm still a bit confused on what to do. I have Contacts enabled in iCloud on both devices and my Mac. Is it saying to disable iCloud and then what, do a local iTunes sync?

Selling MBP mid-2007

Santa Rosa 2.4GHz

nVidia GeForce 8600M GT

4GB ram

256GB SSD upgrade

Dead optical drive

Battery at 1hr

New fans, replaced nearly 1year ago.

OSX 10.9

Asking $300.

This machine was well used, was a very trusty companion. Up until November, it was my primary machine for iOS and web development, and photo editing. Reason for selling: moved to a retina-MBP. If there are no interest, this will become a NAS server.

Machine is stickered-up, if you don't care for that, I can clean it up for you.

Comes with box and everything in it. Power adapter. I can also throw in some dvi-VGA adapter. Runs Mavericks 10.9 very well. Will also throw in an STM sleeve, in which it has always been transported in - decent padding, and turns any bag you use with it a decent laptop bag.
