I'm on the old Rogers Ultimate Plan at $102 less 15% - it gives around 75 meg Speed with 250 gig activity.
That plan expires in October and I think they will force my up to their new $122 Ultimate plan which is up to 150 meg but still with a 250 gig cap.
I stream a lot and download, (2 iPads, 2 computers, 2ATV's, Netflix and unBlockus for Brit. tv) so I always go over the 250 gig cap - so far this month, I'm at 67 gig as of yesterday, and I'm only 5 days into my billing cycle! That may be a heavy front end use - I deferred downloading to the start of my billing period, and I normally come out around 270 - 280 gig.
I see Rogers are offering an unlimited download for $10 extra if you are an all Rogers house, or $30 if you are not.
Now $10 would be good - I usually pay that in overage as I normally approach 280 gig anyway. But their $30 offer makes no sense - it's equivalent to 310 gig (the basic 250 plus 60 gis extra at .50/gig) and I rarely go that heavy on use.
So my questions are:
1. Has anybody done a $10 unlimited deal with Rogers without being an all Rogers house, if so, how did you do it and
2. It appears that come October, to get unlimited with Rogers, I'll have to pay $122 for the admittedly faster Ultimate Plan + $30 for unlimited plus taxes of course. That is getting up there - does anyone know of an alternate provider who can offer unlimited use and a speed of at least 75 meg?
Cheers and thanks for your help/ comments
