Not seeking technical advice, just ranting.
Sitting here wondering why my computer is running like molasses (moreso than usual). Have a job that landed in my inbox requiring InDesign and as much oomph as my MBP can muster. Scratching my head at performance....
In the Finder, call up Spotlight to do a search for a file related to this job, and... Spotlight is indexing. 5 hours remaining. WTFF? :mad:
Why on earth do I need to index my HD? What happened to my existing Spotlight index that it decided it should be replaced?
grrrrrrr.
(and before y'all jump in with "You should use XXX alternative" - I have those other apps mentioned in other threads, the EasyFind or whatever the heck. Tried them both (or the three of them?) and frankly was underwhelmed. Plus I don't want to have to launch an entirely new application just to do a search that should work built-in.
Fortunately the Finder search command is working... but that doesn't help with the system slowdown.
