Recently my Mac's sound output has become unstable, that is inconsistent. Sometimes sound comes out my pair of Logitech speakers, detected in Sound Preferences as headphones, but mostly Sound Preferences shows the only detected sound output is Internal Speakers — which isn't good at all. Occasionally a reboot of the Mac will set things right, but mostly not. Inconsistent.
Yes, I've checked the connection. I've also connected my headphones. Same result.
Is there a setting I can use encourage this Mac to look more thoroughly at what's available?
