My Macbook screen keeps going black so I ran Onyx to try and get some help. I was told the Startup Volume Hard drive needed repairing and to start up with the OSX install disk and then go to Utilities, Disc. Nor further instructions were given.
Did that, chose hard drive because the other option was the install disc. Went through repair permissions as there was no Repair Disc available. Then did a verify disc and was told it was corrupted and needed repair. Instructions were to startup with the install disc (which I had already done) and choose Utilities, Disc (which I had already done). Went through the exercise again just in case and got the same result.
I still don't know how to repair the corrupted disc and my screen still goes black at unexpected moments.
I know there is someone out there who can help but please simplify the tech speak as I don't understand it:-) I realise it is time I traded this in but cannot afford it until the New Year. I have Snow Leopard for an OS.
Thanks for any help you can offer.
