new videocard for Mac Pro 3,1

I guess it's that time, replacement time that is. Recently bought a copy of BioShock Infinite via Steam for a good price-looked up the minimum specs, video card 512 megs, OS 10.8, etc, should be good to go. Fired up the game--this is what I got: 4 blobs of color on the screen, diagonal red at the top and green at the bottom. I could hear some stuff happening, but couldn't see a darn thing. Called Aspyr: apparently my nvidia8800GT isn't supported anymore, even though it might just squeak by, the answer is No. So, if I want to play this game, I gotta get a new videocard, which I should have done long time back.

So, my choices are as follows: Radeon 5770, Sapphire HD 7950 and nvidia GT 680. I might be able to get a GT 285. The prices are roughly this: 5770 is around $400, the 7950 is $500 and the GT 680 is 720:yikes:, even though it has 2 gigs of video ram to the 7950's 3 gigs, it runs faster and does a bunch of things better. I'm not gonna argue, but $700 for a video card? Seriously? That's pretty pricey.

anyways, any recommendations welcomed before I plunk down the ol' visa card

thanks
