my little cousin had a dell and her 500GB esata (laptop) drive got the flue and stopped working. I've since hooked it up to my white Macbook 3.1 via my nextar CX external HD enclosure. Disk util can view the drive and it's size but all the partitions are greyed out and I can't run any kind of first aid. Before the sh*! hit the fan she was running Windows so the drive is formatted in NTFS.
I've found a software called Disk Drill. I let it run overnight and it's been running for about 16+ hours straight and it says there are 886h01m remaining! That's about a month and 5 days :) Right now it has found not a single byte of recovered data so it's not looking too good. :yikes:
Can someone offer up an alternative for attempting to salvage some data from this pour NTFS drive? You have 36 days to answer, or else.... :lmao:
