Teen says father in custody in P.E.I. after cash giveaway in Halifax
A Prince Edward Island teenager says her father gave out $50 and $100 bills to people in Halifax and Dartmouth last week and is now being held in a Charlottetown hospitals mental health unit.
The 16-year-old posted a picture of her father on Facebook Sunday. Contacted that night, she said her father gave money to strangers while they were in Nova Scotia during March Break because he just thinks its the right thing to do to share it with people who are needy and homeless.

Halifax Police Const. Pierre Bourdages said police spoke to a man, in conjunction with the Mental Health Mobile Crisis Team, and determined there was no reason for further police intervention.
According to the girl, her father was stopped by police in Prince Edward Island while on his way to a grocery store last Thursday and taken into custody.
