Girlfriend warned Nashville police Anthony Warner was building bomb a year ago, report shows
Sixteen months before Anthony Quinn Warner's RV exploded in downtown Nashville on Christmas morning, officers visited his home in Antioch after his girlfriend reported that he was making bombs in the vehicle, according to documents obtained by The Tennessean.
On Friday, 63-year-old Warner blew up a city block, police say, about 6:30 a.m. on Second Avenue outside an AT&T switch facility. The bomb caused massive destruction to 41 downtown buildings and crippled telecommunication systems throughout the Southeast over the weekend.
In the aftermath, The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said Warner was "not on our radar" prior to the bombing. But a Metro Nashville Police Department report from August 2019 shows that local and federal authorities were aware of alleged threats he had made.
No actions appear to have been taken to stop Warner, a slender 5-foot-8, 135-pound man who died in the explosion, which injured three others.
On Aug. 21, 2019, the girlfriend told Nashville police that Warner "was building bombs in the RV trailer at his residence," the MNPD report states. Nashville police then forwarded the information to the FBI.

Apple is making changes that threaten Facebook’s business — and the fight has intensified. Early next year, Apple plans to start requiring iPhone owners to explicitly choose whether to allow companies to track them across different apps, a practice that Facebook relies on to target ads and charge advertisers more.
On Wednesday, Facebook went on the offensive to forestall Apple’s changes. The social network created a website that slammed Apple’s moves as potentially hurtful to small businesses. (It did not mention that the changes could hurt itself.) To reinforce its displeasure, the social network also took out full-page ads in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal and The Financial Times to declare that it was “standing up to Apple.”

In a blog post, Dan Levy, a vice president of advertising at Facebook, said the company was taking the steps now because “we’ve heard from many of you, small businesses in particular, that you are concerned about how Apple’s changes will impact your ability to effectively reach customers and grow — let alone survive in a pandemic.” He added, “So we’re speaking up for small businesses.”
Apple executives have expected Facebook’s protests and, in recent weeks, have vowed to go forward with the planned changes.
“It’s already clear that some companies are going to do everything they can to stop the App Tracking Transparency feature,” Craig Federighi, Apple’s software chief, said in a speech last week. “We need the world to see those arguments for what they are: a brazen attempt to maintain the privacy-invasive status quo.”

The MacStories Selects Awards are our annual love letter to apps and the people who make them. Apps have become ubiquitous, seeping into every corner of our lives. They help us find a job and home, get work done, blow off steam, order a meal, and everything in between. With so many apps available in the App Store, though, it’s easy to take them and their creators for granted, which is why as the year comes to a close, we step back and pause to celebrate the MacStories Team’s favorite apps and the people who make them.
To say that bringing an app to life from idea to a fully-formed 1.0 is tough is a vast understatement, and 2020 hasn’t made the process any easier. However, as we survey the past year, the depth of innovative apps makes it clear that many developers poured themselves into their apps in 2020. The result was a list of MacStories Selects candidates that was longer than in any prior year of the awards.

In the courtroom, the nurse learned that she faces eight charges of “murder of a victim under 1 year old,” and each infant victim’s name was read aloud to her. According to BBC News, five baby boys and three girls died. They were named Cemlyn Bennett, Joseph Johnson, Barney Gee, Joseph Gelder, Eli Gelder, Elsie McNall, Daisy Parkin, and Maddie Freed. Letby did not speak in court other than to confirm her identity and her representatives have not said whether or not she plans to plead guilty. The media has been ordered not to report the names of the alleged victims of attempted murder, but there are reportedly five boys and five girls. |

Singer-songwriter Johnny Nash has died at the age of 80.
Nash, a Houston-native, had been in declining health in recent months.
He is best known for his hit "I Can See Clearly Now," which he wrote and recorded. The record is a Billboard Hot 100 Chart #1 hit song.
Nash is also known for his reggae music. He was one of the first non-Jamaican singers to record reggae music in Kingston, Jamaica, according to his website.
Nash died Tuesday afternoon at his home in Houston.
He is survived by his wife Carli and son Johnny.

Mr. Donald John Sinclair, of St. Albert, AB, died on June 21, 2020 at the age of 75. Don was born on June 25, 1944 in LaFleche, Saskatchewan. His parents, LT. F.J.W. and Mae Sinclair, moved Don to Swift Current where his sister Dianne (Martens) was born and the family settled. He graduated from Swift Current Collegiate Institute. In 1965, Don married Ann, and the couple had 3 children, Gregory, Crystal and Matthew. Don had originally wanted to be a veterinarian but while waiting for his acceptance letter to arrive he started his career in the newspaper industry. Don worked in several cities across the country and was an integral part of establishing the newspaper industry in Canada. In 1969 he joined Bowes Publishing Ltd. and went on to hold many positions including Pressman, Editor, Publisher, Group Publisher and Chief Operating Officer at several newspapers until finally settling in St. Albert, AB in 1988. Don had a passion for nature, music and loved photography. He enjoyed road trips in his motorhome with his friends and family. He was a conversationalist and always had time to share a joke, beer or some friendly advice when consulted. He was also a classic car enthusiast and loved showing off his pride and joy - a 49' Ford Meteor. He was a big-time Saskatchewan Roughriders fan and loved his dog Ely who he affectionately called his "little buddy." Don had a lifelong dedication to writing about challenging issues which he knew were important. He worked countless hours on his site (mybirdie.com) so his readers would become informed about the St. Albert community which he dearly loved. He cared, and he wanted you to as well. This was his platform to create dialogue, learn from and for others to gain different perspectives. It didn't matter if the opinions differed from his or not. He was always ready to engage in lively conversation and was never afraid to stir the pot. Don is loved and missed by his wife, Ann; children, Greg, Crystal, and Matt (Holly); grandchildren, Nick, Jett and Shiloh, great grandson Christian and sister; Dianne, inlaws, nephews, nieces and friends. The Game Of Thrones star, Dame Dianna Rigg died at the age of 82 after a secret battle with Cancer since March this year, revealed her daughter actress Rachael Stirling. “My Beloved Ma died peacefully in her sleep early this morning, at home, surrounded by family,” Said Stirling in a statement “She died of cancer diagnosed in March, and spent her last months joyfully reflecting on her extraordinary life, full of love, laughter and a deep pride in her profession. I will miss her beyond words.” The tragic news of Dianna Rigg’s death came as shock to her beloved fan base. The Dame was well known for her role as Olenna Tyrell in the world-famous Game Of Thrones series and for her role as Emma Peel in TV series The Avengers. In addition, prior to her death, Dianna Rigg was also the only ever woman to become Mrs Bond in the James Bond Franchise. Apple today announced two new live global radio offerings on Apple Music, now available to music fans in 165 countries. Beginning today, Beats 1, the flagship global radio station, will be renamed Apple Music 1, and two additional radio stations will launch: Apple Music Hits, celebrating everyone’s favorite songs from the ’80s, ’90s, and 2000s, and Apple Music Country, spotlighting country music.
Waterloo Regional Police say a man’s body was found inside a car that exploded outside of the regional courthouse in Kitchener on Friday morning.
Police said the explosion “appears to be the result of a suspected improvised explosive device.”
At around 5 p.m., police announced that officers were at homes on Hearthwood Drive and Grand Flats Trail in Kitchener with Peel Regional Police Explosives Disposal Unit “to ensure the safety of these residences.” Before 8 p.m., officers said the homes were cleared.
Emergency crews were initially dispatched to Duke Street between Frederick and Scott streets on Friday at around 10:30 a.m. to extinguish a car that was on fire.
“At this point, it’s very early in the investigation,” Const. Andre Johnson said from the scene at noon. “We are still trying to determine the cause of the fire and exactly what occurred.”
While he couldn’t say if there were any injuries, police announced later on Friday that a body had been discovered inside the car.
“We have our explosive device unit on scene trying to determine an origin of the explosion,” police spokesperson Cherri Greeno said.
She says they have evacuated the area and are advising people to stay away as a precaution.
“We have a large police presence there for quite some time,” she explained.
Razer has revived the company’s left-handed computer mouse in response to demand from disabled gamers and southpaw users.
On Thursday, the company announced the Razer Naga Left-Handed Edition, which is now up for sale for $99.99. The device has been ergonomically designed to fit the grip of a left hand, offering better comfort and feel, especially for players of massively multiplayer online games.
Razer previously discontinued the 2014 version of the product, citing low demand. Although the vendor ended up selling thousands of left-handed mice over the years, Razer actually ships the same amount of right-handed mice in a single day, according to company CEO Ming-Liang Tan.

Chasing Arrows: Recreating the Avro Arrow
At Springbank airport in Calgary, a small group of dedicated volunteers work to recreate a national legend, the Avro Arrow–Canada’s greatest aircraft that never was, and that maybe you've never heard of.

A group of hobbyists in Calgary, Alberta decided is inspired to design and build an exact replica of the Arrow, although 60% of its size, the maximum size allowable by Canadian law. Based on original blueprints and collected documents, the Arrow II is being constructed from advanced materials in a hangar at the Springbank airport in Calgary.
Even more incredible than the actual plane, is the dedication of the volunteers who are creating it. This is a project unlike any hobbyist has ever taken on. The home-built aircraft is more advanced and faster than many civilian planes. To the volunteers recreating it, it is a joy to try and right a historical wrong. It is an attempt to re-live and rediscover one of our proudest moments, a golden age when Canada led the aerospace industry and briefly had the most technologically advanced airplane in the world.

This film will be released in two parts. Version I will be released at the end of 2021, documenting the difficult journey of making this aircraft. Version II will be released when the Arrow II finally takes flight, and completes the saga. We will have a very limited festival run, because we want to get the film to you as soon as it's done. We plan to screen the film at participating locations (museums) across the country, pending agreements. It will be a great opportunity to meet other Arrow-heads and celebrate this great plane and the people who built it. The film will also be offered to be screened in participating schools, as part of their history program–the goal being to remind and educate Canadians about this great achievement.

Some town in Western N.Dakota I think. Got wind Antifa and worse were going to cause trouble. A whole bunch of locals, veterans, and bikers, coordinating with the police, did full load out kit (rifles, pistols, body armour, etc.) This included night vision gear, drones, and guys posted to rooftops. Some plain clothes in cafes and such gathering Intel & photos. Whenever an Antifa cell would case a place and get ready to hit it, the militia guys would come out of the shadows to talk… and Antifa would run off. In one case 2 Antifa with “rifles” were suddenly looking at 2 militia guys (more in the shadows with IR)… turns out their rifles were airsoft guns. Those LARPer Antifa were very lucky the locals were very experienced at gun identification ’cause the locals had the real deal. |
