Apple ID password, multiple devices, 2 Step Verification

Got a buddy who is the IT manager here at our local hospital. There are 30 iPads here and other places across the Province, all on the same Apple account. Someone attempted guessing the Apple ID password too many times. A verification code was sent to one of the 30 devices but my buddy doesn’t know which one. All are now locked out of the Apple account. What can advise my friend to do next? Call Apple? Or is there an easier way? Yes, he’s the IT specialist and should be able to resolve this, but they are just getting to know how Apple devices function in a corporate environment and he’s not too pleased with Apple at the moment. Any ideas?

Amazon rant

Again unfortunate that the 90% of users who do not log in will be unable to see this thread once it drops from the top listing.

So I have been noticing this for some time. I very occasionally buy something through Amazon.

I do however frequently search the site for price comparison or to file things away for possible future purchase. When I do so I am never logged in, and my browsers are set to toss their cookies whenever I close the browser. Still it is absolutely spooky the number of eMails I receive from Amazon promoting items I have searched and/or similar items. Only possible explanation is they key into my IP address when I do searches.

A couple of examples: I priced food scales online before buying one at the hardware store, today an eMail promoting scales. Currently looking for a small quiet fan, yesterday an email promoting the same.

Looks like I will have to see what I can do about cloaking my IP, at least when I search Amazon.

Political Correctness Careems out of Control

Too bad those who do not log in will be unable to view this, courtesy of the late March modifications to ehMac.

May the Flyers never win another Stanley Cup and may the Yankees suffer a World Series drought akin to the Chicago Cubs. Smearing the woman 33 years after her death for a satirical recording made in the 1930s is absolutely obscene. What's next? Will they be burning copies of Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn because Mark Twain included a character named N!663r Jim?

Quote:

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- The Philadelphia Flyers have covered the statue of Kate Smith outside the Wells Fargo Center and will stop using her recording of "God Bless America" as an allegation of racism against the singer has come to light.

The Flyers provided the following statement to 6abc Friday morning:

"We have recently become aware that several songs performed by Kate Smith contain offensive lyrics that do not reflect our values as an organization. As we continue to look into this serious matter, we are removing Kate Smith's recording of 'God Bless America' from our library and covering up the statue that stands outside of our arena."

Earlier this week, the New York Yankees suspended the use of Smith's recording during the seventh-inning stretch while they investigate.

The New York Daily News reported Thursday there are conflicting claims about Smith's 1939 song "That's Why Darkies Were Born." The song originated in the 1931 Broadway revue "George White's Scandals," and was considered satire. It was recorded by Smith and also by Paul Robeson, who was black.

The Alberta Political Thread

Now that Red Rachel's Reign of Error is over, Albertans can move on in a positive direction.

Canadian Conservatives Win Historic Election in Alberta

Quote:

Hillel Neuer of UN Watch, a Geneva-based watchdog group, praised Kenney's record. Neuer thanked him for his part in the "struggle against tyranny, racism and antisemitism at the UN."

Others praised him for his tax policy. Americans for Tax Reform celebrated Kenney's election as the death of any Albertan carbon tax. In a statement, the group praised the results as "the latest in a long line of defeats for carbon tax pushing politicians around the world." Kenney's opponent, Notley, had supported the carbon tax, before walking back her stance in the days before the election.

Scott Hennig, president and CEO of the Canadian Taxpayers Federation, said in a statement that Kenney's energy and tax policy had made a difference. "From its very introduction, the carbon tax has been very unpopular in Alberta," he said. "Kenney recognized this, and committed that Bill 1 would be to scrap the carbon tax. Clearly, it has been a big vote-getter for his party."

The Alberta UCP thread

Thought I would create a brand new UCP thread to discuss the next four years of Alberta politics.
