RCMP in Alberta: "dirty tricks" bombing? WTF?

Anybody out in Alberta able to offer comment on this? Seems pretty f-d up to me....

RCMP bombed oil site in 'dirty tricks' campaign

The Mounties bombed an oil installation as part of a dirty tricks campaign in their investigation into sabotage in the Alberta's oil patch.

The revelation came at the bail hearing Thursday of two farmers who the Crown says have turned their complaints that oil industry pollution is making their families ill into acts of vandalism and mischief.

Their lawyer produced evidence that the RCMP bombed a wellsite and that they did it with the full support of the energy company that owned it. The Crown admits the allegations are true.

The police have been under pressure from the industry and the government to put an end to two years of attacks which have caused millions of dollars in damage.

Lawyer Richard Secord told Court of Queen's Bench that when Alberta Energy Co. and police blew up an AEC shed last Oct. 14, they blamed it on his client, farmer Wiebo Ludwig.

Secord also claims AEC offered to buy a neighbour's property for $109,000 if he gave them information about Ludwig.

Ludwig and Richard Boonstra face nine charges involving vandalism at energy installations.

They were denied bail.

Retina MacBook Pro screen burn?

I have a mid 2012 15" Retina MacBook Pro. I rarely use the screen on this machine, it probably has less then 72 hours of actual use of the screen, it is always plugged into a larger connected screen for work.

I have a new 5K iMac, been transferring things, working off both at the moment and noticed some screen burn after very short periods of being on. I can have some very feint burn in after about 10 mins. It does eventually fade away. Also, if restarting I get the menus and dock all burned in. I am thinking this is not normal, but have little experience with laptop screens to know what is. I have always used my laptops plugged into larger screens. I have taken some pictures with my iPhone to show:

Another Pages 5.x annoyance and feature loss

Well I thought I'd try and update my method and try using Pages 5.2.2 but so far it has backfired.

For example, for years I've kept some folders with invoices and receipts I send out and I've always been able to use a "Stationary Pad" or boiler plate template kept in the same folder(s) for quick access.

No longer available with Pages v. 5.2.2 it seems as one cannot even create a Stationary Pad with Get Info, and even though one is allowed to create a template from within the app, and even an option to Save it somewhere convenient, it doesn't work when saved elsewhere. All one gets when opening one is a dialog if I want to Add to Template Chooser.

Has Apple started dropping the ability to use Stationary or Templates that used to work, with their latest apps, or is this a limit of Mavericks 10.9.5 that I'm using??

I sure don't like their direction if this is "The Way" things work now and why kill something that has worked for ages — even back into System 8.x days!!

Not impressed obviously!! :(
