Mickey Rooney, Hollywood legend, dead at 93











Actor Mickey Rooney, the pint-sized screen dynamo of the 1930s and 1940s best known for his boy-next-door role in the Andy Hardy movies, died on Sunday at 93, the TMZ celebrity website and Variety reported Sunday night.



Rooney, who was one of the biggest box office stars of the movies' studio era, had been ill for some time, TMZ said. It did not give a cause of death and a spokesman was not immediately available for comment.



Rooney, who spent almost his entire life in show business, teamed up with Judy Garland in the 1939 movie musical "Babes in Arms." He also starred with Elizabeth Taylor in 1944's "National Velvet," which launched Taylor's career.



Rooney was best known for his role as Andy Hardy, the popular all-American teenager, which he portrayed in about 20 movies.

iPad 1 battery replacement

My son has an ipad 1 in need of a battery replacement. Apple USA apparently replaces the ipad with a new or refurbished one for $99 plus shipping but I have been unable to get an answer from Apple.ca if that same service is available in Canada. I'm not too keen on paying $35 for a 'NO' answer.



Can anyone tell me if the replacement is offered in Canada and if not, can this unit be shipped to the US for replacement? Any help is sincerely appreciated

Opening JPEGs

New member and newbee at posting and although Mac user for many years, now inept! How do I change the default for opening jpeg files? Since I switched to OSX double clicking a jpeg always prompts the error message - Photoshop Elements 3 no longer supported.

Hello from one of your newest members.

As a non-skilled computer type with my new iMac I must learn to submit

invoices in a .txt file format. Is there a way to do this using Excel, as the only save option

that I saw which did not work was the .csv format. This was not accepted!
