Ran out of application memory

2015 MBP, 10.13.6, 16 GB, ~20% free disk space

I don't often shut down my Mac. Things were slowing down yesterday so I restarted, used Memory Clean's deep clean option, ran OnyX.

Overnight, I had only a few apps running: Safari, Firefox, Chrome, TextEdit. (Yeah, all have many open tabs.)

Woke up to find all apps quit & a warning I had run out of application memory. First time, I believe, since 2015!

Restarted those applications (screenshot attached) & ran Memory Clean again. Looked OK...

What to do with an old Mac?

Hey all,

I was wondering what people do with their old Macs?

I have. 2007 MacBook Pro running El Capitan.
2009 MacPro also on El Capitan.
A couple of vintage G4’s collecting dust

both of these are replaced with newer machines. I’m just not sure how I could utilize them.

KVM switch for 2 dual-monitor setups

Hey All
I have two MacBooks (1=work and 2=home), both relatively new (USB-C).
I currently run a second display on 1 in a dual-monitor configuration... display is HDMI 1080p and I use a USB-C-to-HDMI adaptor.
I'd like to run the same setup on 2 using the same display again in a dual-monitor configuration, so I'd like to find a KVM switch to switch between the two.

Shipping route for Expedited?

So I was just curious, and thought someone may have ordered a mac lately from the Apple store, and could remember the shipping route it took!

looking for old ati software

now before you tell me to hunt macintosh garden, already tried that and a few others. they don't seem to have what i am looking for.

i am looking for the mac software for the ATI TV Wonder 650 USB for Mac, preferably the tvPORTAL app.

i have hunted irc channels and websites and google and even the wayback machine to no avail.

I am wondering if anyone here could point me in the right direction.

I had an account here many, many years ago...long enough for it to have disappeared!

Never a poster, but a prolific lurker when I was trying to learn how to use that first iMac after only using DOS/Windows.

That was a a couple of iMacs and Macbook Airs ago! I still feel like a newb with my Macs, but the good thing is that 90% of the time I just have to use them, I don't have to figure out how to solve a problem!
