Late 2006 White Macbook Cracked Cover

Hi. I have a late 2006 White Macbook which has had a cracked (cracking) cover around the keyboard and front for a few years now. The Macbook is in perfect shape. Someone told me that Apple would replace this free of charge? Is this true, and if so, how do I go about having the repair done?
