where to download the apple free apps?

I bought my dad a 5S and I am setting it up. When I went to the app store it gave me a list of all the free apps to download (iPhoto, Pages, etc). I closed out of it to set some other things up and went back, it was no longer at that list. Now iPhoto is supposed to be free, so I went to search for it, but it shows $4.99 for it. How do I get back to all the free apps that comes with a new iOS device?
