Bought Adobe Photoshop Elements 15 - now I can't use it!

Hi,

I bought Adobe Photoshop Elements 15 on a DVD.
Installed it fine

Then Adobe wanted me to register an account - not too happy about that, but OK, I did that.
Then I'm ready to use it to edit an image, so I try to open the image with Elements 15, but no, I'm not done yet.
Adobe brings up a message that by default all my activity is going to be transmitted on line to Adobe - supposedly so they can improve their product and provide better support.

One is supposed to be able to opt out of that default but the opt out link doesn't do anything - it just merrily goes ahead and asks for ones birthday.

Well, complete name and birthday are the first steps to identity theft, so I'm mad already with the hoops I have to jump through to get the software I just bought to work, I decide to type in the default dates that come up - 1 January 2017.

Well, guess what - I get looked out completely because I'm too young to use it.
Yeah right - I'm two month old sitting at my keyboard trying to use the software.

So I try to call Adobe in Ottawa - google says they are open until 8pm, but no, their message system says they close at 4:30pm (I called at about 4:45pm).

So now I have to wait until tomorrow to get this resolved unless someone has a great idea how to reset the date I put in.

Why has the search function always sucked so bad on ehMac?

I was just trying to look up a thread called Pet Corner. Simple right? Nope not on ehMac, I got a whole bunch of garbage. It has always been this way.

EhMac should get out of the stoneage when it comes to their search function. It would take a first year undergrad in computer science probably all of about 30 - 60 minutes to make it work properly. Of course I could be exaggerating, but it has been dysfunctional ever since I was here starting in 2007.

Excel Character Headaches

Hi,

I wonder if anyone has a solution for me.....

I have a very long list of items in text edit in rtf format.

Copied that into an Excel spreadsheet using the paste text option

All looks great (I have done that many times before) but now I noticed that the single quotation mark ( ' ), whatever that is called, shows up as Õ in the Excel spreadsheet.

So I tried to use the replace function in Excel, but no matter what I do, Excel doesn't recognize the Õ character.

I tried typing it, it;s a capital O with a tilde.
I also copied and pasted the character and Excel still won;t recognize it as a character I want to replace.

Short of replacing the Õ manually with ' which would take hours, any suggestions what else I could try?

2015 MacBook Pro explosion....

My 2015 MacBook Pro Retina exploded.

One afternoon as I was lying on my bed browsing the internet, my MacBook Pro suddenly turned off. I turned it back on and within a few seconds there was weird hissing sound, followed by white smoke and thin flames coming out of from the back.

I got up and ran with the laptop for the bathroom where I could put it on the ceramic tiles. Not more than ten seconds had passed and already the heat from the bottom of the laptop burnt my middle and ring fingers so badly I had to let it drop.

Just in time.

There was a bang as I backed away causing the back to pop and smoke kept pouring out. It kept sizzling for a few minutes and then finally it stopped.

Another Barn Find.. - 40 years later

Apparently someone forgot their jeep wagoner in a barn on a beach for 40 years LOL
I am thinking Barrett Jackson is gonna pass on this beauty. lol
i guess i will never understand how a barn is on a beach and second how someone forgets they have a jeep in a barn on the beach for 40 years LOL
Maybe they will get lucky and find an unopened Snickers bar in the glove box and it would take 2 hands to barely hold it up compared to the tiny bars today.
