Which External Hard Drive to Buy?

Evening all, I am in need of an external hard drive in order to back up . I will be using time machine. What would you recommend I buy these days. I don't need a lot of storage space . I have an older iMac and my time capsule is no longer being used as a wireless system.
Are the G- Technology worth the money?
