Having lost so many cherished actors in recent years, here's a good news story: Actor Norman Lloyd (who I remember most fondly as Dr. Daniel Auschlander on the medical drama St. Elsewhere) is still acting at age 101. Looking good, too!

Norman Lloyd got his start in the theater decades ago before making the move to motion pictures, working along the way with such iconic figures as Orson Welles, Alfred Hitchcock, Jean Renoir, and Charlie Chaplin.(Interview at AVClub via Mentalfloss, which is also worth reading (short))

This year, Lloyd became Hollywoods oldest working actor when he appeared in Judd Apatows Trainwreck, which is now available on home video. Given that he was less than a month away from his 101st birthday when he spoke to The A.V. Club, it seems fair to say that Lloyd is also the oldest actor ever interviewed for Random Roles.
