Noobie here saying hi

Hi all, I've been an iMac user/owner since 2008 and a user for many years before that (in education). Currently, I'm upgrading my 24" iMac to a 500 gb SSD (Samsung 850). I also use my ipad 2 daily for news, browsing and entertainment. I'm considering upgrading my ipad to either an air 2 or a 9.7" pro. Any words of wisdom from the population here would be greatly appreciated.
