Does WhatsApp still violate Canadian Privacy laws?

Per this and many other reports

WhatsApp is violating Canadian and other countries privacy laws.

But those articles I saw were written years ago.

Has WhatsApp now changed their product to comply with Canadian privacy laws?
Anyone know?
