Security Update… Reboot… toast….

So just got home from a weekend away. Woke up my Mid 2010 13" (7,1) Macbook pro to check on a few things. After working on it a few minutes i see the notification there is a security update. I say go a head and do it, it's supper time no biggie!……. wrong….. :-(

Come back after to it wanting to reboot, say okay…. it reboots and then … BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEEEEP BEEEEEP BEEEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP… and a lovely black screen…. followed by several colourful beeps's of my own. :)

As far as i can tell with some research, 3 short, 3 long, 3 short beeps is a corrupted firmware? <insert yay or nay from those in more knowledge then i have>.

That same research indicates one can download a Firmware restore CD from Apple for such an event and fix it yourself. According to said instructions you simply have to go to the apple download section and get the CD. Simple in theory and that took about 15 minutes of various search terms to find the "Firmware Restoration CD" that didn't give me 100+ options.
Unfortunately every one it did find (1.9 all the way down to 1.4) was for a variety of other models, none of which are the Mackbook Pro, Mid 2010 13" (7,1) variety…

Before i go through the hassle of calling Apple, and having a lovely conversation about how my mac is out of warrantee (and apple care) and try to inform them it was their software update that has corrupted by firmware (if that is indeed the case), can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks!
