Does anyone know the difference between Cogeco VMedia and TekSaavy's unlimited 55/10 internet plans?
I'm looking at blowing apart my bundle with Cogeco and going with a high speed/vol unlimited internet plan for my family of 5's Internet and online viewing. This would mean cutting the cord on my Cogeco home phone and Digital Select TV plan ($205 /month). TV viewing will be supplemented with an over the air antenna (we get about 30 channels here in Niagara).
The good people at Cogeco have come-up with a way to reduce the existing plan bill to $170 month with adding unlimited internet (Ultimate 55 Plan w unlimited). But this is still too much.
Cogeco's Ultimate 55 Plan w unlimited is offered for $60.95/mo for 6 months. Don't know what it will cost after 6 months.
I spoke with a rep at VMedia. They have good pricing on 55/10 unlimited internet ($69.95/mo), but require modem purchase, installation fees etc. I think that they run their service using Cogeco lines and read that there customer service is limited.
I've heard lots of good things about TekSaavy over the years, but their 55/10 Unl internet plan is pricey ($95/month) and require hardware purchases, set-up and activation fees etc.
Is there any difference in the quality/reliability of the internet service between these providers or is this just a commodity that we should be trying to get the best price on?
