Charging iDevices on 06 Macbook

This has been a deathly slow process.. I mean, Tom Brady's 40yd dash at combines slow. I'm assuming that the USB wattage on older machines isn't the same?? my iPad says it's not charging at all, but after having pugged over night, i have a 50% charge (and was off!). And my iPhone takes noticeably way more time as well.



Added to that, i'm not seeing the share internet via USB option either. Are they all related?
