2007 MacBook Pro nvidia issue

Since this is a known issue, i have the opportunity to get one for 100$. Should I even attempt to fix it or my efforts are worthless?



My friend did reflow a 2006 ATI graphics and is working well now. It's so tempting so I can give that to my parents.
