I am working on a book project and very temporarily borrowing images to represent some different things in my book. I will get permission to use them or not use them if I don't. As of recently, when I try to insert the saved image, I get more often than not a message saying:
"This application cannot open this file. This file is an unsupported graphic format or may be damaged. Try opening the graphic in another application."
I have tried opening them in Photoshop and saving as new but that doesn't work. I'm only working with jpegs and pngs but this keeps happening. Does anyone know why this is suddenly happening? I'm using Mac Word 2008 Version 12.
It's really frustrating as I just want to use the picture to hold an idea. And, again, i will seek proper permission of the artists and photographers involved when the book goes forward.
Thank you in advance.
